Charlie Osborn This past year has been one of significant change due to the devastating fire in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. From April 2011 I was the managing partner of Island Printing & Imaging in Lahaina, and then sole owner beginning in the spring of 2023. Over the years there I added considerably to my photography archives photographing beautiful Maui. Landscapes, seascapes, mountain views, birds and other critters both native and introduced and, of course, the magnificent flora of the island all were added. And then August 8, 2023 happened and lives all over the island changed dramatically in just a few hours. The great fire did not discriminate, it wiped out homes, businesses and lives and this included my business there but, fortunately not my home. And it included my most talented partner Darice Machel McGuire (who is on Fine Art America). Her painting studio was in my printing business.

The losses have been enormous and put us in a position to decide to stay or leave. Ultimately we reluctantly chose to leave because I had clients I needed to continue to do art reproduction work for and Darice needed to get back to painting. The problem was there was no practical way for us to establish a new business/studio location in West Maui were we lived so we chose to sell our condo and come back to Northern California.

Here we are in Grass Valley, California with a new awesome studio. I am getting back to photographing and Darice is painting, painting, painting. Years of past work are now expanding this website and new work will begin being added very soon. Enjoy my collections and be sure to come back often to see what is new.
